NPP Modinagar is actively working for the benefit of people. The govt of Modinagar has taken many initiatives to help the public in many ways. The initiative activities of Modinagar for the 2025 year are listed below.
Swachh Bharat Survey, A Cleanliness Competition Among Wards
Modinagar has started the Ward-Level Cleanliness Competition to motivate the cleanliness on ward levels. In the competition, 12007 wards of the Uttar Pradesh state participated and there were 653 local bodies in the competition.
The govt will judge the wards based on the following.
- Solid Waste Management
- Infrastructure Development
- Toilets
- Greenery
- Aesthetics
- Involvement Of ‘Clean Ward Encouragement Committee’ Set Up In Each Ward
- Segregation Of Wastes
- Open Defecation Free
- Citizen Feedback
The Uttar Pradesh state has run many rallies on the motive of the Swacchta Mission to aware the people. The wards who win the competition will be awarded at the district level. UP state has aimed to improve the ranking of the state in the National Cleanliness Surveys.
The parameters set by the local cleanliness authority are the same as those of the National Cleanliness Surveys. It is insisted that the competition among wards must be healthy, and they should cooperate during waste management.
Municipal Corporation Has A Fund of Rs 400 crore for This Mission
The Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam has initiated the process by raising the fund of Rs 400 crore for the Swachh Bharat Mission. By announcing this big amount for cleanliness purposes, Ghaziabad becomes the fifth city to raise such an amount. This money will be used for recycled water supply. The rating of the Ghaziabad city is done by the SPA company. The Municipal corporation will get registered with SEBI before issuing bonds next month. The process of issuing the bonds will be started after the govt approves the DPR project.
Despite the ban, residents see no relief from plastic clutter in Noida /Ghaziabad
The Uttar Pradesh govt has banned plastic bags in the state as there are serious hazards caused by poly bags. The shops and other local vendors have not taken any action to stop using plastic bags. The govt has banned these plastic bags, but the reality check on the streets shows that people have no fear of govt and they keep using plastic bags.
It is found that people have little awareness of the harmful effects of plastic bags and they did not find effective alternatives to plastic bags. Plastic bags that as less than 50 microns can not be used in the market, but the people have no knowledge of that and they are not enough educated to check the plastic bag’s micron number.
The vendors from the small shops to big shops said that plastic bags are easily available and that made them common use. These plastic bags are usable and leakproof and also carry heavy things. As per the survey, the govt people does not find a single shop which has no plastic bag. This is a big surprise for the Uttar Pradesh govt to provide cheap alternatives to the plastic bag or the govt can ban the factories where plastic bags are manufactured.
