Lakshmi Narayan Temple is one of the famous temples of Modinagar. The temple is specially dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. The other name of Lakshmi Narayan Temple is Modi Temple. In the temple, you will find the idol of Hanuman Ji, Santoshi Mata, Maa Durga, Gayatri Mata, Venkateshwara, and others. 

The temple is built in the place of the Modi Industry Empire. The temple is built with red sandstone. The temple has two smaller temples, one of the goddess Durga and the other of Lord Uma Maheshwar. This is a Kalinga-styled temple. The temple has Ram Lila stages and there are regular performances there. 

You will find mesmerizing fountains in the temple. The temple has white marble. You should see the small holy sites in the temple like Shri Ram Darbar, Yagyashala, and others. 

Situation of Lakshmi Narayan Temple

The temple is built on NH 58, which is the Delhi Meerut Dehradun highway. The temple is on the west side of the road. You will find the main market of Modinagar near the Lakshmi Narayan Temple. Near the temple is the Modi Bhawan which is the resident of the Modi Udyog Empire. 

The Modi Bhawan is on the east side of the road. The Post Office is also near to the Lakshmi Narayan Temple. There are offices of Modi Industries there, the Modi Sugar Mill is also there. On the other side of the temple, there is the upper market. Furthermore, you will find the railway road and then the railway station will come. 

Construction of Lakshmi Narayan Temple

The temple was built with the efforts of Rai Bahadur Gujarmal Modi Ji. He was the founder of the Modi Udyog Empire. The data is 03 February 1963 when the construction of the temple started. As per the Hindu calendar, on that day, there was Vasant Panchami. Mr Modi Ji invited Krishnashram Ji Maharaj from the Himalayas. 

It is said that the Krishnashram Ji Maharaj only comes two times from the Himalayas in his entire life. The first time he came from the Himalayas was at the request of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya for the establishment of Kashi Hindu University. There are other people at the time of the construction of the temple like Sri Sri Anandmayi Ma, Swami Krishnananda Govindananda Ji, Sri Haribaba, renowned saints, and Mahatmas.

Lakshmi Narayan Temple: Inside View 

The temple has the idol of Shri Lakshmi-Narayan, Shri Uma-Maheshwar, and  Shri Durga in the beginning. There are idols of Hanuman, Gayatri Mata, and Santoshi Mata. These idols were established later on. 

Venkateswara idol

After some time, the idol of Lord Sri Venkateswara was established in the temple. The temple is open for daily worship and there is Abhishekam on each Friday at 5:30 am. The duration of Abhishekam is 1.5 hours. Then, the temple is decorated by the Pandit Ji.

Ramlila stage

The temple has a big Ramlila stage. The stage is made of red stone and it is located on the south side of the temple. The stage has a seating arrangement for a multi-level audience. Thousands of people can see Ram Lila at once. The big stage is divided into three sub-stages. 

One stage is for the act, when the act of stage 1 is over, the act starts on stage 2 without any break. The stage 3 is for the preparation. The audience experiences flawless Ram Lila at this temple. The architecture of the stage has been made in the ancient Hindu architectural model.

Architecture

The temple is made of red stones. Inside the temple is a white marble. The temple follows the style of Kalinga. The temple has three temples within it. The middle temple has the highest peak with the silver umbrella. There is a damru on the peak of Load Shiva Temple. The temple has a lake with fountains. There is a brass statue carrying two pitchers from a pond.
